My 'husband', dearie, is a good friend of mine; and between discussions of just how we'll manage the finances once we both start dating other people, he's more than supportive of my 'flirting' on the internet, having been 'guilty' of doing the same thing...
Why, would you like me to flirt with you more, too?
*flutters eyelashes*
Don't presume, please, to know how other people operate in their personal lives. It ain't always black n' white, tho' it may comfort you to believe thus...
It's a little bit mythologised, but many cultures have much more awareness of their own place in the scheme of life, and the balance of life and death. We're terrified of it all and fight it to the end.
I can't remember the last time i was called dearie, if ever.

I think Smillieboy made a good point Ag. I have tried, without success, to steer off topic conversations on to my thread. A general chatting thread (or two) would be a good idea - a thread to discuss life in general.
I've a fondness for sycamore - I think the most pleasing to the ear song lyric is "Birds singing in the sycamore tree, dream a little dream of me" - there are better songs and better lyrics, but that particular one just has a lovely collection of euphonious, resonant words.
I really really like German, Japanese, and Russian words, they just feel nice in my mouth - even when I have no idea what they mean.
On a different tack, this amused me:
