Some people might think that it is excessive to jail someone for a year for storing alcohol, but does anyone realize how much crime and distress is caused by alcohol consumption. Having said that, everyone knows that Saudi Arabia is draconian about alcohol laws, so why did this idiot attract attention somehow by showing off his collection? He is lucky that he did not get a more severe sentence. (Mind you, the suggestion of giving someone three hundred and fifty lashes at the age of seventy is a little harsh.)
We might need to build a 50 million capacity prison to put us all in if you get your way prettypolly.

Alcohol is great, it binds communities together, it plays a key role in lots of religions and it helps you relax. You're even healthier and live longer if you drink (within reason). I'll raise a glass to the right to drink booze any day of the week.
It also causes cirrhosis of the liver and is at the root of many crimes.
