Robert Browning
many of you no doubt already know the works of Robert Browning, but I have only recently discovered him.....(being quite dense and ignorant in the poetry department)
I think I may have at last found a poet who speaks to me so to speak...lol
I really loved Soliloquy of the Spanish Cloister
" Gr-r-r there go, my heart's abhorrence!
Water your damned flower-pots, do!
If hate killed men, Brother Lawrence,
God's blood, would mine not kill you!
What? your myrtle-bush wants trimming?
Oh, that rose has prior claims-
Needs its leaden vase filled brimming?
Hell dry you up with its flames!"
etc etc....
Being as I don't usually post on this thread, I thought I must do my duty and "discuss" a poet....
