Sebastain Faulks is boring!
Sorry about spelling. I have recenty read On Green Dolphine Steet by S Faulks and I have to say I found it very boring.
I was suprised becasue I have read article about him and seen to programes but I found his book disapointing.
I thought it was so trival in lots of ways.
I'm sure you will all disagree with me.

i never made it through Birdsong, so i guess i agree with you, John. it seemed to me like a bit of a bonkbuster and a bit of a war book dressed up as a French novel.
of course, these days, if you can mix a bit of bonking with a bit of the war, preferably WW1, but WW2 has beem coming on strongly recently, and add in a bit of Empire - preferably the Indian bit, and something about ethnic integration, you're a sure thing for publishers. an improbable, super-sentimental love story should also make a strong appearance.
