a moment of prayer
Have just sent some poems to a publishers who claims to want to print 'new voices'. Here's hoping I'm new enough. Wish me luck.
Luck wished but your talent and humour will prevail.
Good luck.
Having no deity to pray to I cannot pray, but I feel if you are pushy and ballsy enough, that will give you more of an edge than God can. Having said that, I've never met the guy...
How'd it go then, David?
Still waiting to hear. It could be some time...
Saw the publisher last night. He was positive but non-committal. He wants to see a few more poems before he decides.
Keep us informed, eh?
The answer was thanks but no thanks. This puts me in the position as Walt Whitman, Philip Larkin and millions of people who are desperate to be published but are piss-poor at writing poetry.
Have now found a publisher. My first pamphlet (that I haven't paid for myself) will be coming out next year. Provisional title is "It doesn't take a scientist to understand what's going on, baby". My mum is delighted.
