Someone help me. George hopefully.

Did Elvis Presley write his any of the songs he performed?

Thanks

Just as I thought. The reason I asked is that my girlfriend is interviewing Barb Jungr tomorrow. She has just recorded an album of Elvis songs and Elvis gets a couple of writing credits. Top Man and thanks. Ralph

Barb Jungr is a bloody good harmonica player I seem to remember. I saw her at the Hermit in Brentwood about 12yrs ago, when she was touring in a combo called 'Hell Bent, Heaven Bound', that included Christine Collister,Ian Shaw and Helen Watson. Here's a link to her website,

Thanks George. The interview is for that website and the Bloomsbury's as well. It a great album, I recommend it highly. Come and see the show if you want, you know you are always welcome. Ian Shaw is a top fell as well. Thanks again

I don't think he wrote many, if any of his songs. Maybe some Gospel.

He had trouble writing his name, mate. Never wrote anything, although that cunning bastard Parker sometimes insisted that Presley had a share of the publishing, and put his name on the records as co-writer, ( at the time of Presley's death Parker was taking 55% of every cent that he earned, so the publishing filtered down to him also). It was a nasty little con, perpetrated on new writers desperate to get someone to record their songs.
