Thanks. I think... Really I'm just home from work with a poorly, yet still amazingly adept at whining 4 year old. And I'm bored! Plus I'm avoiding all the other things that really do need doing. I'm good at avoidance. So who else is going to respond? Pepsoid, don't you have one stuffed up your sleeve?
>>> Pepsoid, don't you have one stuffed up your sleeve? ...It is gestating in my subconscious and will explode onto ABC when it is fully formed...

I can't wait to see its cherry.

Phew, I nearly missed this challenge! I’ve had a busy few days! I was a bit stumped at first, I actually thought about this overnight before I wrote it this morning - not like me! Thanks for the challenge again P, it really brings something new out of me when I have to interpret and imagine what the title could mean. This title was good, I loved the other attempts! So who else is up for the challenge? Try it - I dare ya!
I was wondering where you were, Emma! You are my second favouritest little challenge monkey! Oh alright, joint first place with Lisa... Glad I provide you with the ingredients to bake your Inspiration Pie. As yours also appears to be a 'proper,' full length story, I shall print it out, read it shortly and get back to you... "P"

Just read your story, Emma… Blimey, I’ve inspired something serious! This piece feels personal… Is Jessica you, by any chance…? “P”

It's absolutely not lol. I was lucky enough not to have any problems through school, but I was inspired by the word 'freedom', and as I’m from the North the word 'duck' is often used for a girl, so I just started writing with that as an aim. I actually pictured the girl being late teens, who finds her way out of a tricky situation wearing a purple hat, but then I didn’t want the hat to be 'real' so it seemed more fitting that the character be young. But like me and everyone else - Jessica is coping with problems. Whether you are 13 or much older I sort of believe that we tend to approach a problem in the same way. So I can imagine that there are young people out there like Jessica, and I imagine that’s how they think. Blimey! Em.
'Blimey' yerself, me duck! I too was born a Northerner - I hail from the beautiful neighbourhood of Moss Side. Keep 'em coming, folks! :-) "P" :-)
