White Collar Crime
So Christmas was coming up and I was broke and had family and friends waiting for Christmas treats under the tree. What else could I do? I'd been working on a collection of stories that kind of interweaved with one another, doubt it'll ever see light of day, except... I was working at this school that was about to close down (not my fault I might add) and so I went and abused the facilities for a weekend: printed out, photocopied and bound 10 copies of my 150 page book. Took bloody ages and I went through a lot of paper that day I can tell you. Nice gifts though. Well, my mum was pleased.
So will anyone own up to commiting an even bigger crime for the sake of their writing?
Speeding. Clean licence. Impecable record. Caught on camera. Six points as well. Bastards.
Then again, I have been driving largely illegally, one way or another, for 36 years so I shouldn't complain.
Bloody hell Steve, how fast were you going fer chrissakes? And where? And let's hear aboput the 'illegal' driving too while you're about it! I always wanted to hear about a real life 'getaway' driver !
Look it's hardly Sweeny stuff. I had my photo taken doing 60 through the road works (30mph) on the North Circular so I was asking for it. As it happens, all the rest of the traffic was going at about the same speed.
As to history, my legal advisor tells me to draw a veil over that but again it involves speed and things.
Re. the original thread question, I reckon in my time as a journalist I broke the law a few times for my writing but I better take advice on that lot too.
Ah, I got caught by the same camera some while back, i was only doing 43mph and got the standard fine and 3 points! Can't wait for the autobiography when I assume you will expose your dirty deeds!
small beer mr pypin!
Just two days ago a stuffy old magistrate wearing a white collar mugged me for £500 plus costs. I call that a crime and it upset my writing.
What were you busted for?
