'The Artist' by Bright Eyes
Should be called 'The Mind Artist', methinks. Very strong, original imagery - the story of a hypnotist who grapples with the moral ambiguity of his trade by calling himself an artist, and imagining that each face is a blank canvas.
Not bad at all! There's a painting called "Bright eyes", by John Everett Millais, by the way, not to mention a lagomorph-related song by Art Garfunkel.
Ohhh! So that's who Bright Eyes is! There is such a wealth of good stuff in those sets. 'Sleepsong' feels like it ought to be famous. It's got a - I hesitate to use the word - nigh on perfect voice and metre to it. I can imagine hiding beneath a thick duvet and feeling delicious frissons of fear running up and down my spine as an adult reads it to me.
