Just reached page 38.....beginning to nod off.....Should I plough on further ?

No. Just my opinion. Well, go on if you fancy it. It was not the best read, but had enough in it to make it worth while. I'm a bit biased against Ian because everyone raves about him. It was the same with Pretty Woman, Harry Potter, Bros... I suppose I find him too dry all in all, although did enjoy Amsterdam. But mostly I sort of think 'Do I care about these characters?' and the answer is often 'no'.

The first 90 pages are dire, but you'll find out why if you stick with it. The rest of the story is quite good. The first part is a 'novel within a novel' but you don't know that until you get to about page 90. Sorry if I spoiled anything, but it's worth finishing, even if it's not the greatest of novels.

A 'novel within a novel', eh. Thank goodness for that. I was worried it was a straightforward linear narrative. I shall plough on.
