Well, on fridays, I can do the 3/6, 24/6 or 1/7. On Saturdays, I think I can do the 18/6, 25/6 and 2/7 (I'll check), then I'm off on me hols. [%sig%]

Might be able to sneak away from study for an hour or two but I do have two huge pieces of work due on 7/6 so wont be able to stay out for long.

Really great idea. I would join you, Mykle, but am slightly too far distant :) unless I move back there.... A pub sounds friendly, relaxed and great fun, but I'm assuming this is just for the first get-together and planning? I can't imagine conducting a serious sharing of on-going writing efforts in this kind of atmosphere. Too noisy, too distracting. Too much temptation toward 'other' activity! We use places like Borders/Barnes & Noble or libraries (especially of the college variety - they're open late and usually have special rooms for small study groups), community centers, or even set aside spaces in museums around here.

Me not Mykle!! I'm gonna have to change my name, or he is.

My vote's on the pub, or some eclectic little bar somewhere. Think we would benefit from a small amount of 'social lubricant'.

KJ, Are you coming to the event tonight?
Eleanor

Count me thoroughly in also. Did you know that you can hire back rooms of pub for free? My boyfriend and I belond to Brighton Roleplayers (hehe) and we use the back room of the Prince Albert pub for free on a Monday night. There are quite a few pubs who are happy to do this. Just a thought. I'll be happy wherever it is. I'm just sad that I can't offer my place as I'm a live in nanny and it's the family's house really. I'm not going to the event tonight though.

Quick question: how will we recognise each other? I don't fancy walking up to random dodgy looking people and saying 'hey are you smilieboy?' or 'are you kjheritage?' :-) We need a dresscode or signal. lol. Seriously.

come on KJ - Smillieboy and I are going to get back to Brighton this evening after the event - and yes, count me in for a Brighton meet-up.

Well myself and Tony are on , click on start your journey and view the ABC tales rogues galleries (I'm only on gallery6 and Tony is on most of the rest). If you can't be bothered, we're both big, bald and thirsty. We're a bit like renaissance Mitchell brothers.

I think we shoould meet up for a social drink soon and maybe sort out a few details?
smillieboy
Anonymous's picture
Yes we should do that. How about the day after the election (Fri May 6th), so at least we can bitch about politics if the writing conversation dries up? KJ can you e-mail me (if thats ok) so that I have everyones e-mail addresses, to save putting all the details on a thread and boring everyone else to death.
Lou

Babysitter permitting, I can make that Friday (my other half is out in London). Checked social diary - only event I've got booked in for 6th May is appointment for root canal in Worthing. Oh good grief - oil of cloves and a large gin.

I will be busy till late at night on the 5th - shouting at the telly and laughing at all those jumped up Tory losers...but after that I'm quite free.
Eleanor
Anonymous's picture
I think I'm free. Get back to you on that one. Am I the only girl so far? - it's hard to tell sexes from usernames!
smillieboy
Anonymous's picture
Well El, Lou is most certainly female, as I have met here and it was pretty obvious. So no, you're not the only girl.
Eleanor

Not to worry, El. Let us know when it's all over and we'll have a special Brighton night out. I'm moving house the Saturday morning after the next meet, so I'll be taking it easy - well, easy(ish)!
