I liked this. It has the same kind of flat tone as American junkie memoirs. I like all the back in the day stuff, and the mythology of names (AOL, warez etc) works well.
Good stuff.
Cheers,

Thought I'd repost the URL, as Mark got carried away with his Ws.
I thought this was very good. I've tried a similar sort of thing, but grendelguy has demonstrated to me that I just don't know enough about the subject matter - whereas he does.
There is a lot of technical information in this piece, and I feel it's handled really well - I never felt I was being blinded by the science. The narrator starts off explaining what he does and how he does it - then (and only then) when that's straight, does he attempt to get on with the story.
I like, I think, the repetition of "The day my mom got phished" - it kind of draws the reader onwards, wanting to get to the punchline.
However, I wonder if it would have worked better if it had been a surprise: the narrator's invincible exterior could be a foil to the shock ending.
The trouble is, if you change that then you'd have to change a bloody good title!
Well done grendelguy.
