children writing/reading online

I have an eight year old niece who wants to put her short stories online, and is not sure where to do so. She also wants to read other children's writing.

Are there many children posting on ABCtales, or is there another more child-friendly creative writing website I can tell her about?

www.fictionpress.com has stuff for children on. I am not sure if there is an age limit to register, but they have a pretty good rating system which can be set to age preference.
