A free to enter competition with a first prize of £2,000.

The Cheshire Prize (http://www.chester.ac.uk/literatureprize) is open for entries until 1 September, seeking a short story or poem for children up to 1,500 hundred words in length and previously unpublished. 

Writers must have been born, live or have lived, study or have studied, work or have worked, in Cheshire. For the purposes of the Prize, Cheshire is deemed to include the Wirral, as well as Warrington and Halton.
