I like the storytelling style, it reminded me of Anne Tyler, you lose yourself in the detail of the characters lives and are suddenly buldozed by the next big reveal. Glad to hear this is part of a bigger thang.
What I love about this piece is the way the venality and corruption of the characters echoes the way in which you've blatantly stolen the entire '3 meals' plot from an episode of the Vicar of Dibley.
