Can't Stand It (Warning: I am ranted)

Stood is the past tense and past participle of the verb to stand. 

Present participle: Standing, it’s standing.

Sat is the past tense and past participle of the verb to sit. 

Present participle: Sitting, it’s sitting.

I can’t stand it.  Do people no longer care about language?  Do they think they’re somehow ‘challenging the status quo’?  Is it a particular form of fawning?  That the internet and MSM are inveigled in this depressing state of affairs is one thing, but that it’s being used in books!  Books!  (Books of authors we shall never speak of).  Did this hail from the interweb?  AI?  Did AI write this book for them?  Whatever the reason, it’s the last straw; I am sitting here blowing my top.  Sitting here.  Not sat here.  Sitting.  Blowing my top. 

Because if nothing matters, what’s the point of anything?

The present participle of the verb ‘to stand’ is standing.  We are standing here.  We are not, and never shall be, stood here, nor is he ‘stood’ over there, he is standing over there.  I am not sat here, I am in fact, sitting here.  Blowing my top. 

Why don’t we just change all the participles, re-conjugate the language entirely?  Have a fucking ball.  She is not shopping here; She is shopped here.  He is not drinking here, He is drank here.  They are not eating here, They are ate here.  Let’s all got back to sounding like two-year-olds learning the language.  Oops, we are not learning just now, we are learned just now.   They are not sacking that editor; They are sacked that editor.  (Somebody should).  I am not making a point here in the manner of a raving lunatic, I am made a point here in the manner of a raving lunatic.

I am felt better now.
