"Elementary, My Dear Watson, Elementary"

The less I eat biscuits (10? weeks now), the more freely I express anger.

How many years have I crunched down carbohydrates, seething, instead of expressing anger in the moment?  Until recently, quite a lot.  While this is not how I want to feel or behave, hope that the realisation of this livid symbiosis, signifies that it’s in the process of being healed.

Can think of only once when I totally (and satisfyingly) lost it in the moment.  1997, went to Bogota, Colombia on a work project.  The project lead was a psychopathic narcissist.  Back then, didn’t even consider his behaviour as bullying, just thought he was a total CU Next Tuesday.  (He was).  Bogota 1997, there were 37 murders a day.  Six weeks prior to arriving, there had been a kidnapping of a European employee.  It was beyond stressful being there, and they had dreadful biscuits.  Great cake, not so crunchy on the biscuit front.  Fortnightly, we (Brits) had to collect a subsistence cheque, cashing it at the bank for local currency.  Four weeks in, went to collect my Friday cheque; it was a bank holiday weekend.  Banks were closing Friday 2pm until the following Wednesday.  It’s a matter of safety to have local currency, to throw at muggers and run, not just buying leche and mantequilla.  Perra dishing out the cheques watched me come in, then pretended to be concentrating on a blank page on her desk, and pointedly blanked me.  I asked again.  She didn’t look up, but raised her hand shooing me away, “Come back at 2”.  Zazuum!   Swept everything off her desk, threatened her with the big boss if I didn’t get my cheque at 1pm.  Damaged the door slamming it on the way out.  Aye Caramba!

Never had a problem with cheque chica again.
