Fair point, Gaunty, I do apologise for any e-mails I sent that may not have been to your own personal taste, whoever you are. I was having a really disinterested day at work and sent out stacks of the "Priceless" funnies. In fact, I sent out far too many of them. I just couldn't resist it. The humour appeals to me (Guardian reader, you understand) but not to everybody else, which is fair enough. For those who don't know, they're not pornography at all, but rather pictures of people caught in compromising or embarrassing situations, for the most part after comsuming copious amounts of alcohol. They're accompanied by a little text insinuating that the pictures are "priceless." It would appear, as Stormy states, that you're in my e-mail address book, but then the e-mails could have been forwarded to you by someone else. But if receiving a few e-mails is all it takes to get you so hot under the collar, then you really need to lighten up, man. You could simply have e-mailed me - as someone else did - with a polite request not to be included. I wouldn't have been offended. As I stated above, I knew I was being a bit of a nuisance, but I was just so bloody bored at work. Now on to the matter as to who you really are. Stormy seems to have picked up on clues that I've missed. Fish claims to know who you are, and I believe Liana said so too at one stage. I'm still working my way through it, but I'm puzzled by the fact that neither Stormy, Fish nor Liana live in London, so wouldn't be regular listeners to your show. There's obviously a part of yourself that you're trying to hide from the rest of us, which is why you opt to use a pseudonym to write your insults. And I'm still sure you're in a lot of pain. I don't see you leading a happy life. Probably all sorts of little things get up your nose - traffic jams and waiting too long to be served at the bar and things like that, right?. I had some problems a while ago with a bloke on this site. It may have been before your time, I don't know. You could even be him for all I know, although I doubt it. I didn't like this fellow because he threw insults freely, quite a lot of them actually, without knowing anything about me. He'd write stories about me every night. That in itself didn't bother me. What bothered me was that he didn't know me. And for all he knew I could be a timid chap who could easily have been bullied off the site by his actions. I'm not a timid chap, but he wasn't to know that. And for that reason, I didn't like him. But I have to say one thing for him. While I didn't like him, I certainly respected the fact that he always wrote under his own name. He was a tosser - probably still is - but he had more courage than you, Gaunty. Think about that tonight as you lie in your bed with painful and angry thoughts bouncing around your head, denying you sleep. You're like a little mouse, aren't you? Running out of your hole to snippet away with little bites here and there, and scampering back to the safety of your pseudonym. Little mousy Gaunty.

I don't assume that EVERY anonymous poster is angry, sick or twisted, Noobie Noo. Just those who write in an angry fashion and throw insults from behind the safety of a brick wall. I assume those to be cowardly. I assume that Gaunty is both cowardly and angry because he hides his true self and he writres in an angry fashion. It's not rocket science.

i expect he is very busy being a top radio personality and all that ... probably has all sorts of events to lig at over the weekend ...

Karl, I think you're missing the point. The artist currently known as Gaunty is not, from what I know of his sense of humour and have discerned from his posts, particularly angry or unhappy at all. He's just indulging in a slightly complicated form of ironical sh*t-stirring. I suggest it can only solved with a duel. Gaunty with his sun-dried tomatoes, Karl with non-lethal fruit or vegetables of his choice. Perhaps it could be held on a boat on the Thames. We could all make a day of it. Bring a picnic. Someone could bring some more samosas. This has all dragged on for far too long.

i think it could be solved by a penalty shoot out as suggested by robert yesterday ... he reckons all conflicts ought to be resolved in this way ...

just got back to this. Much as I like the idea of penalty shootouts I think now that the gauntylet has been slapped we should have some kind of dual personality at dawn, providing she does not mind.

I notice that the nearer the identity of the troller comes to being revealed the more we are conned into believing it was only a laugh. However this same troller has used the anonymity of the proxies to hurl abuse and settle personal grudges, under a variety of pseudonyms, for a long time now. Afraid to use their proper name because they do not have the courage of their convictions. Throwing stones from the dark to wound those who have no target to respond to but a cloaked coward, hiding in the dark! What’s so funny about that?

...to add something to what David said, it seems to me that Gaunt is enjoying the entire thing and wouldn't be posting these messages if he wouldn't get such a wide response. He even, out of the blue, posts a message to put down lesbians. Is he angry? I doubt it. Lonely perhaps -- he's probably just seeking attention. I think Karl and Gaunty are the same person! (*blushes with a multitude of stares*) Well -- if Karl is bored at work enough to stuff possibly resentful friend's mailboxes with borderline pictures, then this little charade ought to provide endless hours of fun.

Morning I'm furious. I read this morning that my local creche facility is closing down due to council cutbacks and that there is going to be a protest march through the streets of Croydon today by outraged mothers. Do you wanna know what I think? Take the children away from their parents and give them a proper family. If these mothers cannot be bothered to look after their children and in turn give them someone else to look after so they can just go out to earn a few quid and have a natter with their vegatarian girlfriends then they deserve all they get. My point is that far from not having the courage of his convictions, his posts do not represent the deeply held views of the writer but are a wind up. And apparently a very successful one.

well I for one don't give a @!#$ who he is, (sighs wearily). like all of the childlike squabbles (only I hasten to add) on this forum, the perpertrators have always hidden behind the wall of obscurity that abc allows them. I seem to have said many moons ago that if the postee wishes to remain anon etc we should NOT let them wind us up. As with all children in (my experience), if you ignore their bad behaviour they either stop or indeed go away. I'm surprised so few people have noticed just how bitchy Jon is. I agree with you David. My point was that because she is close to being unmasked she is trying to make it seem as though it's just a joke or a wind up and play down the grudge aspect!

It doesn't matter a fig if it's a joke or a wind-up; if the person is 'real' (like Mykle is 'real' - I mean we have all met Mykle haven't we?) or if he/she is 'fictional'. The ONLY thing that matters is entertainment value. The sooner you dullards learn this the better the threads will become.
