I read this, with a slightly tight feeling in my gut. The charactor is an all to familiar victim of her past. I felt for her, but really wanted to shout, 'Don't Allow The Bastards to Grind you Down Girl'. The Dead emotion and it seemed acceptance of her lot in life, really annoyed me. I wanted to shake her into realising that we are all responsible for our own lives. Yes we can blame incidents of trauma for ruining our existance, but we can also rise above it. Put it where it belongs, 'In the Bin' and grow from our experiences. Help others do the same.

I only caught about a third of last night documentry. I'm all set for tonight though.

From what I've read so far of Lisa's work (this + about half of Alice and Death), it has a very sensual quality, but could do with (IMHO) a little tightening + more focus + smoothing round the edges. Still, I think it's a style that is generally a joy to read & could go to interesting places.

Any advice on how to stop squirrels nicking bulbs? My crocuses are prey to a big cocky white-chested brute of a squirrel this year; the bugger even sneaks down behind my back and digs while I'm in the garden. Looking around online, I find the standard advice is to lay wire netting - but I want to add plants above the bulbs (cyclamen and such).
