Creative Alliance!

I just wanted to share my good news about something...

I've just got a place on the 'Creative Alliance'! - & for those who don't know what that is (i.e. probably just about everyone (including me until recently))...

It's a free 'course' (loosely speaking), for which places have been fought over (well not literally... as far as I'm aware... (!)), open to artists of all disciplines, for them to get together, bandy around ideas, do artistic 'projects' & get help & advice re getting their work into the public domain... & get paid for it! Initially, my girlfriend, who is a photographer, went along to the introductory meeting, called my on my mobile while I was wandering around Birmingham waiting for her, said, 'hey, why don't you come along, as you are a writer?' - to which I said, 'well alright then'... I filled in a form... and somehow I got a place!

I'm excited & terrified at the same time... Part of me feels like an imposter, who isn't a 'proper' artist, but got a place on a whim of the co-ordinators... But on the other hand I think, 'well there must be something about me which made them think I could contribute something to the group' - even though I didn't say more than about two words & God knows what I said on the form!

Anyway, just wanted to share this with my fellow creative people, & express my hope that anyone else out there who wants to can find similar opportunities...
