I've probably mentioned her before but have you read Louisa Young. She's now a mega rich childens author but she wrote a triology of books about a belly dancer torn between a pair of lovers.

Only suggestion would be that some of the descriptions relating to dialogue were superfluous.

Although there are some truly horrible typos in this (please correct them!) it really is a fine piece of writing. It takes us through a traumatic incident in stop/start sequences that may or may not be in or out of order. It doesn't matter. Original and good:

Hey, this is really great. I love this in particular:

"I love the men I sleep with, sometimes briefly, but the love is there
and it's real. She brings in clothes from the balcony line
cracks a shirt in the air. A whip for his back.
Dropping pegs into a tub on the floor she curses her life. Under her breath.

This is absolutley fantastic. Funny, fresh, original...from the end of the first paragraph I was hooked. The whole thing is wonderfully imaginative and brilliantly excecuted.

Just thought I'd point out a couple of things I noticed: 3rd paragraph, 3rd line, 'again' should be 'against', I think. And also, Starbucks is one word. Also this line:

'I'll hit you, damn it.' He threatened

Should be:

'I'll hit you, damn it,' he threatened.

God, I'm pedantic.
