Anyone read it? It's great.

It follows the river dart, weaving in all the different voices of people who live/work on the river. It's based on real interviews and, at the side of the page, it tells you who's voice/interview is influencing the poem. It feels very original.

Funny or really depressing?

ABCtales finally gets its act together and my frigging computer decides to break down. It's a laptop and the inner mouse clicky thing is either not working or it jams. I can't afford to get it repaired so I'll have to pop down to Maplins and buy one of their cheapo mouse doodahs and plug it in the available socket. Thanks ABC you're doing a damn fine job.

I'm looking after my 5 (and a half dad!!) year old son this week. We haven't killed each other yet, but I'm not sure that I'm doing it properly. Today, so far we have:

arm wrestled(although he arm pulls instead)

spent 10 mins trying to convince him that you CAN dance to Kool and The Gang

told him the names of all the muscles in the body that I know (bemused silence and sly cartoon watching during this). hamstring made him laugh though.

explained how car insurance works (again). He did ask.

Loved this Neil. Bleak and beautiful. Simple complexities that evoke.

I just read these two submissions from Spack, and thought I should flag them up. He has such a fresh voice that everyone should read his stuff. They read like Belle and Sebastian lyrics.
