Denver Dies

Bob Denver, that is--the character actor famed for his role as Gilligan in Gilligan's Island. Personally, I remember him best as Maynard G. Krebs, the feckless beatnik in the 1950's show, The Loves of Doby Gillis. It's hard to believe that Gilligan was 70 years old, but there you have it. Good night, funny man.

Re-direct Mississippi?

I think we should stay strong and be as one here. The American goverment want to re-direct The Mississippi!!!!! Hey Dubya, yah gonna mess with an ABCtales member at your peril. If Mississippi needs re-directing well, we're well versed in that. They don't like it up 'em Missi!

Favourite personal webpages

I got really cheesed off trying to plough through 'Mansfield Park' today and after several hours reading random stories I began to investigate some of the personal webpages on here and encountered some truly wonderful (and others truly weird) sites.

Have a go and post your most (or least) favourite.
I'll start, this is great fun. Feed the patients or give them therapy the choice is yours.

Beautiful and imperfect you: Alp

I loved this poem. I wish someone had written it for me. I particularly liked :

"Another evening spent with tears, That can't wash away what is true." Great line.

Favourite TV meteorologist.

Look no further than Cannel Five's Lara Lewington. If she ain't ' trailer trash' beautiful then I'll just have to eat my cornpone. Mind you as newsreaders go I think the Asian-Irish guy Krishnan Guru Murphy on Channel 4 takes some beating.

Your portrait by mcmanaman

For me, he's a bit and miss - but this one is a great big hit:

but then again that's what ABCtales is for - trying stuff out and finding out what works and what doesn't.

Platonic - Soraia Almeida

This is really great. In particular:

"By overstepping the line,
By maybe trying to hold your hand, sometime, in the near future."

So well phrased.

a-typical love story by tanis

It isn't often that something comes to us so perfectly formed - but this is a delight:

Same old thing but told so well this time - and with what is, to me, an original twist. Hurrah!
