Story and Poem of the Month

Our Story and Poem of the Month for September have very kindly been chosen by Drew Gummerson:

Story and Poem of month

Well it’s an honour to be choosing September’s Story and Poem of the month and what a hard choice that was. Once again I am amazed by the talent on the site and by the real variety of pieces submitted.

But choices I have made.

In these turbulent times the Story of the Month goes to Mark Burrow and his Small Town Insurrection which manages both to be absurd and frightening.

Special shout outs also to Jane Hyphen with It’s the year which is hilarious. And frightening.

To The Big V for Punctured Bicycle - doomed love and indie music.

To Ray Schaufeld for Sha-leigh showing how to pack a punch in just a few words.

And to Mark Say for Cow’s Skull with Calico Roses. Excellently written and with an ending that packs a punch.

Poem of the Month goes to skinner_jennifer’s beautiful Lucid Dreams

Special shout out to Angusfolklore for two brilliant poems, Midwinter Remember and Knowing the Crows

And finally to the ever excellent onemorething for the outstanding The Ghost of the Bird

Thank you so much Drew, I'm over the moon with being picked for poem of the month.

That's two people spotted flying over the moon. They're all excellent pieces -- great company to be in. Thank you!
