Story and Poem of the Week and Inspiration Point 17 Mar 2023

An interesting week this one. The prose side of things was exceptionally difficult due to some fantastic writing by quite a few different people.

  • Celticman’s Schmooze Control was a snarling, vivid piece that must have been as cathartic to write as it was to read.
  • Mark Say’s A Man Called Malcolm was as good as any short story has a right to be.

On any other week either of these could have been Story of the Week and I’m sorry I can’t pick 3 in a tie.

However this week’s Story of the Week is the last of Kilb50’s multi-part Red Bicycle which is here. If you want to start at the beginning, go here.

As for Poem of the Week, I just had to plump for onemorething’s ‘Newes From The Dead’. You’ll see why when you read it.

Do please check out Marc Burrow’s extremely moving ‘The Ward’ too. Prosetry it might be, but I found real poetry in it.

This week’s not (w)hol(l)y appropriate IP is here.
