I was really impressed with your short, Dan, and the very fact that you won means that professional people were too! I’m just amazed that all you seem to have got is a pat on the back!
It was a cockup on the part of the 2000AD people apparently (Louis who runs the festival is a very nice bloke and I wouldn't want to slander him). The year before (when we weren't even placed) there was a big screening of all the entries at the Curzon. This year - bollocks all.
Coincidentally - see Liana's post on other top thread - I have just taken one of my few remaining Zopiclone and intend to get a fairly early night Em. Sleep well all!
The award-winning film statement reminds me of when I was a kid watching Bugs Bunny cartoons. For the longest time I could not figure out what breed of rabbit was callled 'oscar-winning,' especially not knowing what an oscar was at the time. LOL
*enters pet shop and asks to see the selection of oscarwinning rabbits*
Re Stupid stuff we used to believe... when I was a kid and I'd watch Snoopy cartoons, my dad would always come in and say, "Oh, you're watching Peanuts"
I would think, no his name's Snoopy. But then I got to thinking that Peanuts was the name of Charlie Brown's first dog, who had died, like Petra in Blue Peter, but that my dad didn't know that Peanuts had died and been replaced by Snoopy. So I was always very careful to hide from my dad the fact that Charlie Brown's dog Peanuts had died... And I would never call the dog Snoopy.
Does that make any sense?
Katrina, if you insist on giving chapter and verse on our nocturnal assignation I will be forced to seek legal advice.
Unless of course you wish to do more research.
