Well that's stopped me in my tracks! I was under the impression it was 70mph across the country. Anyway in the UK it IS 70mph, and of the states I've visited it's also 70mph, BUT as a US mile is shorter than an imperial mile 70mph in the UK is faster than 70mph in the USA.
(And just to piss the Texans off that claim everything is bigger in Texas, an imperial gallon is bigger also. so there)
Nope, not all states are the same. They used to be, it was pegged at 55 mph years ago when everyone was driving little fuel efficient jap cars, but now, we all have big gas sucking SUV's, some states raised the limit. Leaving Colorado and entering Kansas (65) is always fun, instant 10 mph drop.
So is 6 inches still the same length between the two countries?
I believe 6" is still a length to aspire to in both places, Denver, though I'm not sure what use it's put to these days. I may be wrong (and I can't be arsed to google it) but I believe the difference is in the total yards in a mile.

Drop them in water for 2 hours. Take them out. Which one weighs more the pound of bricks or the pound of feathers.
One could surmise that the goos feathers weigh more, because of the service to area ratio of the cell and there capacity to take in water..
or it could be the man with red hat?
Depends on the bricks I guess, some bricks are very absorbent whilst others (like engineering bricks) are less so. The feathers I should imagine are non-absorbent otherwise they wouldn't be a lot of good to the goose. Either way the bricks probably absorb some water so the weight would increase accordingly. The pound is still a pound retort is rubbish, as long as you're using dry bricks/feathers to start with and weighing the same total material after the two hours.

Regardless of the water absorption, the question was still phrased pound vs. pound...
If the water absorption truly IS a factor...
Since they're goose feathers, they repel water.... geese and duck feathers have an oil that covers them. So they wouldn't take on much water.
The brick material is essential. If it's red clay, you'd perhaps get a little water within the air pockets, but red clay also does not take on much water, either.
I still say they weigh the same.
In which case, Dan is rite..the mass of the bricks is grater than the mass of the feathers and so the water is irrelevant.
Don't matter how you look at it, weight is irrelevant.

If you read what I said and took it in, you'll know that I said it does depend on the bricks. Whilst red clay bricks may or may not be absorbent, several other varieties are very absorbent, especially as they age, it's one of the reasons so many old houses are damp. As it is Denver has stipulated 'clinker' bricks, which I assume are what are known in this country, as 'breeze blocks', which are again very absorbent. Any plasterer will tell you that he 'waters' his walls before he plasters them, in order to prevent the wall sucking the moisture from the plaster resulting in the plaster falling off. It also helps adhesion.
