writing retreats

Over at UKA we organise an annual UKAway writers hol, and one which was highly praised was the one to Anam Cara on the Beara Peninsula in West Cork, Ireland. I put myself on the Anam Cara mailing list last year, and keep promising myself...it looks so fab. When work and finances allow...

I went on an Avon Foundation Writing Retreat for short story writing. It was the best thing I've ever done and I returned to "the real world" with a brand new dose of confidence and inspiration. It's really worth it. I do have to add that I won the retreat with a writing competition, I believe they can be very pricey otherwise! good luck x

Actually, they don't all know each other before they go (I've never been), and everyone's welcome, whether a member of UKA or not (as long as there's places left of course) And the location changes each year. For example, there have been two to (different locations in) Cyprus, one in Greece, one in Scotland, and so on.
