Danish politics

Having dabbled a bit in politics and then stepping off this treadmill I am comforted by the fact that our Prime Minister's ratings are going up- she can't beat the right yet but she's getting there. This guy from the far right Simon Emil A- let's just call him that -doesn't like poor people. I don't mind because he is not going to get much of a say in parliament. He'll be allowed , by the government, to vote for things/bills so the Gov. can get them passed- they are not going to compromise too much. I am beginning to have a bit more faith in them. And the far left- whom I always have voted for because of their social and humane committments, they are the government's support party and will always be fighting for justice and equality and the government is often quite dependent on their vote. Last election we three doubled our number of seats. Hooray!

Sounds like you are governed by a rainbow. How progressive. It could never happen here. Or could it? Media splashes about young royal couples are actually designed to preserve the status quo though. Like your blog!

I think they are coping well PT and I see the future as bright with the Social Democratic leader.I think they are working hard. Thank you for your words. I know what you mean about Royalty. I am not a supporter of it. But we are a small country which I think is easier to govern. That said I love you Brits- you are all so friendly and kind. We Danes can learn a few things from you.

Just bumped into a lovely lady on the train and had a wide-ranging discussion about rail services and touched on the absence of Social Democracy hre.

You live in a big country PT and it is difficult to do what pleases all. But I do think you should tax the rich harder_ like we should and are in the process of doing atm.

I couldn't agree more, but we are an odd mix of entertained-into-perpetual-contentment America and know-my-place England, doffing our caps to Hollywood and the Queen. Not much will change without trauma of some kind. Entertained to a lazy, comfortable death. Britons are so uneducated, they don't understand the arguments anymore.

It's a while since I have been on the barricades PT but I support certain revolts. You should see my Facebook page- it's filled with all kinds of causes and petitions I sign- from protection of animals to climate warming control. Yesterday I phoned our Foreign Ministry to check their participation in supporting Homosexuals in Uganda. So I still do my bit even though I don't actually show up for marches etc anymore. I'm lucky I have a computer and internet connection- not everyone has. I feel privilleged and my choice of lifestyle has evolved through my upbringing. So I am thankful to my parents and friends for keeping me aware and happy for my life. Sometimes I feel too aware and too close to all the miseries of the world but in a way that keeps me ticking-fighting for good results.

You sound like a lovely person, Pia. Although that wouldn't be news. I feel very lucky that I know more than my fair share of lovely people. x
