Rio at Warwick tomorrow

He's back! After two runs over in France we've brought him back to the UK for a 4yr old Novice Chase at Warwick tomorrow. It's been 278 days since we raced him in the UK.

Not only that but we've been able to book Tony McCoy ( Champion Jockey) for the ride.

Only seven runners and there are two extemely good prospects in the race. One from the Paul Nicholls stable and one from Charlie Longsdon. The other three horses have never been over the big fences before and have only done hurdles.

I am hoping for a place. Nothing more. Second would be a really great acheivement, third wouldn't be bad either.

Its on RUK which is a satellite channel or you can watch it in any betting shop. Its the 2.20 at warwick tomorrow.

Fingers crossed. Oh BTW his full name is Rio De Sivola.

Good luck Rio for tomorrow.  Stay safe

good jockey, and good luck. I'll not be betting Rio though.

Good choice. But... three have now withdrawn. So it's only four runners!

He won, no, he didn't just win he slaughtered the opposition winning by eight lenghts and going away! He was the outsider of the four runners and was 9-1 before the off.

The trophy is massive and is on its way back to London. Great day, great horse!

Aintree here we come...

brilliant. grand national. Stud fees. You'll be a millionaire (if you're not already one) a  billionair.

Oh Joe, You must be over the moon.  There's nothing like a win under your belt to get the juices flowing.  I am so pleased for you and for Rio and glad he has survived without injury.  Eight lengths is pretty conclusive.  Does he go over jumps or is he chaser (?)  If you're thinking Aintree then I  guess he's a jumper.

Congratulations once more,

Moya

Far too young for the National but there is a good Chase ( Big fences) at Aintree that we may have a crack at. Need to see how he is in the morning and make sure he's come back okay. But he absolutely flew today and jumped like a stag!

There will be some good reports written about him tomorrow in the racing papers.

Came back down to earth this evening. Just finished making sausages!

Aaah! Sausages!  A skill once acquired never to be forgotten eh Joe?  I must tell two of my nephews  as they like a bet and go to the races. Rio de Silvero his name?

Moya

Rio De Sivola. Because of his breeding, it;s insisted that you hade De Sivola somewhere in the name. There are a lot of De Sivolas running. But ours is good old Rio.

Go Rio! I am delighted for you about the win. May do a £2 bet on Rio's next race (only bet what I can afford to risk)   Elsie
