Eastendbutchers Short Story Collection.

My new book is now available on Amazon. It's a collection of 25 short stories. Some have been on here and some haven't. Some I've brought back to life and given them a bit of a twist. I was always worried of losing them somewhere, I recently moved house and couldn't find my external hardrive( where I keep all my writing), for weeks. Once I found it I thought, why don't I publish them and then they'll always be out there! Hope you like them! Here...

Wilder v Fury

It’s less than twenty-four hours since I watched one of the best Heavyweight contests in a long time. The Bronze Bomber v The Gypsy King, come on, it sounds like it’s straight out of a feature film! The Bronze Bomber is a black American from Alabama whose real name is Deontay Wilder. He won the bronze medal at the 2008 Olympics as an amateur. He’s now 6ft 7inches, unbeaten in 40 fights and won most of them by knocking his opponents senseless. He...

Alvarez v Golovkin 2

Five years ago today I wrote about a fight. Mayweather v Alvarez. https://www.abctales.com/blog/jolono/mayweather-v-alvarez Alvarez was just 23 back then and very much “the new kid on the block”. The young Mexican was unbeaten, talented, quick hands and was fast becoming a superstar. Mayweather was already a superstar. At 36 he was the biggest thing in Boxing. That fight saw Mayweather give young Canelo Alvarez a lesson in Boxing. How to hit and...

30 Stories in 30 Days.

I set myself a challenge for November. Write a story a day. 30 Stories in 30 days. Minimum 500 words. I failed! Miserably. I wrote 20. I hadn't taken into account there might be a few problems along the way. Like having Gout twice during November, oh and four days of man flu. But it has got me writing again and that's a good thing. I kind of dried up a bit and found myself being too busy to sit down and tap away at the keyboard. Now I'm tapping...

London Competition ( The Winners)

The Competition was inspired by a good friend of mine, The Gentle Author. He has a daily blog called Spitalfields Life. He also produces the most wonderful books, all with London as their main theme. I managed to get hold of a couple of copies of his best- selling book “The London Album” and thought they would make great prizes for a London based competition. The entries were, as expected, of the highest quality. We had the hustle and bustle of...

STORY, POEM and INSPIRATION POINT OF THE WEEK.

What a week for poems and prose. But there always has to be a winner ( or winners) in this case. Story Of The Week goes to The Other Terrence Oblong for THE STOAT PROBLEM. It's clever, witty and with the great style that TOTO has in bucketfulls! I loved it. http://www.abctales.com/story/other-terrence-oblong/stoat-problem As for Poem Of The Week, there was a stand out piece from Philip Sydney. SHALL I BE MOTHER is a triumph of delicate memories...
