Changes...

Perhaps you've heard of the old corny line, 'a change is as good as a rest'.

Some weeks ago, I turned to examining estate agent's lists for the right small residence...

Today the whole thing began to take shape -
I'd selected 2, the first was a beautiful appointed bungalow on the outskirts of the city... The second a large flat close to a cathedral...

When I last rented privately, you went to look, put down a small amount so they could look up the credit details and then waited for the day you had to put down the full deposit and a months rent in advance.

It has all changed, you have to apply before you view, or you have to prove you can pay before you can view... Its amazing how demoralising the words of the estate agents are when they utter the figure they need you to prove you have coming in annually.

I worked out the maths, I'm retired, disabled, yet managed to be financially OK. I was 2k short....

I felt six inches high, and had to say no...
It's a matter of not wasting their time...

I'm not happy here, too much going on in the community which seems to revolve around the street.

Later I met an old friend on the way home from the post office, and told her...

As she left, a young Asian woman came rushing by in a pale trench coat... She gave me a weird look as she went to talk to her friend....

She was emotional and jittery, apparently someone had given her my monies the night before because I have enough...?

It's such a pity she didn't speak to me, I know the way to the Police Station...
And whatever it was about the Police could have helped her sort it out!

If you read this by the way and know her, perhaps you can explain that honesty is always the best policy...

She also said that if I had gone down to the hall today I would have 'got it back'!
Oh the desires of my heart, to be back by the river....

This is all hearsay by the way, so I must not waste the Police time... Its up to her to talk to them.

Sounds like cruelty or stolen post, or someone paid to do this dirty work....
Behind her stands a very bad person....

I've had years of poison, two deaths, both missed, I wish the wind would change...

We re-enter lockdown on Thursday.
The darkness gathers more strongly than ever.... It is almost too much....

A change may have been an excuse
For cabin fever.

Hello Maisie - nice to see you on here again. I'm not sure if it's an error, but you've included some kind of unclickable link in the title which is playing havoc with our layout as it's so long. Could you please remove it, or move if to the body of the blog if you want to include it? Thanks
