A Christmas Newsletter
It’s that time of year when we sharpen our festive pencils, dig out the paper with the robins round the edge and create a little newsletter for you all.
It’s been a brilliant year for ABCTales thanks to you, our multi-talented members, and of course our team of hard-working editors who give their time and energy freely to support the site and to make it into such a vibrant and inclusive space for writers and poets.
For the Trustees, it’s also been a year of endless form-filling to finalise the changes at ABCTales, and happily, with grateful thanks to Tony for all the cupboards he turned out, we are almost there!
Two things left to jog your minds with: firstly our upcoming reading night – this time on a Saturday (which means we’ll hopefully have a few more out-of-towners) – at the Wheatsheaf on February 3rd. If you’d like to read please email mark@abctales.com. Amongst others, we will have maggyvaneijk whose first book comes out next month (pre-order it here: https://tinyurl.com/y93g8aur) and we’re also hoping to film this one!
Secondly, for anyone who hasn’t been on the site lately, we recently announced our exciting collaboration with Cerasus Poetry. Here’s a little introduction from them:
Cerasus Poetry launched one month ago as a joint venture with ABCtales to assist selected poets to collate, edit and publish their first collections. It is being run by John (Lille Dante) Wilks and Helen (Philip Sidney) Richardson. They have already announced Simon (JupiterMoon) Howarth as their first prospective signing and are currently auditioning a few others. But they are still looking for future talent and are particularly interested in reading work with something new to say and with original ways of saying it. They are not vanity publishers and give robust feedback to all submissions. Don’t let that put you off! 2018 could be the year you make it into print.
If you’re interested you can get in touch with them at cerasuspoetry@gmail.com
Finally, we hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a spectacular 2018!
Claudine, Jane and Rob.
