Have flicked through Nolan's stories, only had time to read this one all the way through so far. I am a prose head, and this is prose I like. Short sentences firing images at me, like poetry I suppose.
This piece conveyed a real fatalisitic atmosphere, really onnected with it, and having flicked through Nolan's other work, there was a wealth of other beautiful sharp images in there I look forward to reading.

the detail in the everyday is very true - the piece rambles and jumps scenes but this mirrors the thoughts of the narrator and works really well - i particularly liked the scene where the narrator listens in to a couple having a chat. Very realistic. ty for the read Juliet
