'Of Course You Can Meet The Queen!'

Just to let all you amazing Abctalers know that I have published my children's picture book.

It's 230mm by 210mm portrait in full colour with 29 pages of illustrations (by multi award-winning Chris Baker) and 29 pages of text.

It's designed for children aged 3-8 years old.

The first print-run of 1,000 copies arrived in early December and I've received very good feedback from the hundred or so people who have bought a copy so far.

I will be offering a free service as a story-teller to primary schools and libraries so that it reaches as many children from all backgrounds as possible.

Half of all profits will go to Railway Children, the incredible charity that specialises in helping street children in the UK, India and East Africa.

If anyone would like to buy a copy, I have set up a website for the publication that takes Paypal payment. It's at http://www.catchymonkey.org/
Price is £6.99.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank all the wild and wondrous members and editors at Abctales for the incredible ride of discovery I've been given. I truly believe that this is the best site in the world, and a real life-saver for me.
For reasons outside of my control, I have been asked to delete many of my comments, stories and poems in my collection due to their personal subject matter. I will be adding new work when I can.

Many thanks,
Richard

Nice one Blighters. Let it run and run my friend. I read the subtext and wish you all the best for the new year. The deletion is sad but ultimately for the best in a perverse sort of way. Fingers crossed XXX.

Thanks Scratch. Bon 2012. I know what you mean about the deletion. The book'll keep me busy.

Well done Blighters - i'll be getting a copy soon. :-)

Hi Richard- could you put the homepage as a link-please- I can't find it? ;)Pia
The link works fine, Richard, and wow - I know one isn't supposed to judge a book by its cover, but this book is an exception, I feel;-) All the luck in the world with it, and I shall be ordering my copy forthwith, if not sooner. Tina;-)

Thanks Stan, Fatboy, Pia and Tina. Would you believe I still don't know how to make a link? Terrible. (If anyone knows, can you tell me please?) I got the webpage up and running by mid-December but got stuck on the Paypal button, so I missed out on Christmas. Uggh. I went with tail between legs and howled at FTSE for help a few days ago and he was on it like a flash. There's a real diamond behind that hard-drive of a man! Thanks for all the support. Richard

Just to say the Paypal button works fine, Richard. Shall let you know when I receive it. Am really looking forward to perusing it, for, as they say, 'Childhood is a place and not a time'. Tina;-)

Congratulations my friend.I will be ordering.

You can count me in too Blighters. I have a very bright, avidly reading seven year old. It can be a belated Christmas present to go with the indulgent skip-full that he already got. Cheers matey.

Hi Tina, that's a brilliant saying and shows your youth of heart. The book's in the post. You're right, Blessing. I'll put a link on as soon as I know how to do it. Jolono and Scratch, thanks a million. Let me know what the youngsters think. If they feel like doing a review on Amazon, I'd be very grateful. Any inscriptions? Let me know their names so I can write a greeting in the book for them. Richard

Will let you know Blighters.

JJ Right now I have one story in one collection (that I didn't know I had). One of my stories has been read one times and none of my stories have been cherry picked (yet). Polar Bear A strong Muscular body With claws Capable of Ripping through bone. JJ

Brill. I love that poem! Ripping through bone; yep, he's a boy alright. It's on its way. Kids seem to be loving inscriptions so I'll say a wee hello to JJ. Big thanks

Nice one. And I'll get him to post a review for you when he's finished reading it.

Sorry because I been messing about the posts are out of synch.

I look forward to it arriving - well done on getting it out. Shame about your posts being deleted. 'I can't believe it's not butter' didn't strike me as particularly subsversive. Or are the supermarket chains pursuing you?! Rob

Hi Rob, That one and many others weren't to do with the problem. It's just that I tried deleting stories one by one and got fussy, then I went on to my elaborate and plentiful comments, got fuzzy with the mountain to climb, and after a couple of hours I'd got about 1% done. Painful realisation got the better of me and I asked Abc to help me. Thanks to FTSE, I can get at my work but it's still too raw to delete one by one those pertinent to the problem, which I honestly can't go into. I'll face it soon. Thanks for getting a copy and see you on the 18th. All the best Richard

Congrats, Richard!! The book looks great - very well done! I also look forward to reading some new work from you - your profile looks so sad without it! Magic xxx

Hi Magic, Thanks for taking a look. It's a sad state of affairs so I'm concentrating on the book. I've tried, believe me, but the creative juices are lost. Love your latest tube poem. I'm happy to plug the book and read gems like that for now. Richard

Blighters, the creativity is not lost, just on hold.
