25.10.13 Story, Poem and Inspiration Point of the Week

There's been a lot of fantastic writing on ABC this week - I can only hope that the rest of fall will continue to be this good.

The poetry was so outstanding that even settling on a shared prize was difficult. Both Bee and Silver Spun Sand's work deserves special attention - and their poems work well together to boot. They offer two very contrasting views on youth - how it ought to be and how it (unfortunately) is. Bee’s ‘Defiling a Rose’ is a touching portrait of the abuse of youth, while Silver Spun Sand’s ‘Awakenings’ is imbued with a lyrical nostalgia. This week's Story of the week goes to Lisa H, and is more a Novel of the week as she has just completed That Elusive Cure! It's simply terrific.
