Belated Introduction

Hello,

My name is James and I came over from 'that Idler' forum some weeks ago. But actually I am not as idle as I make myself out to be.
Anyway, I thought that seeing as I never introduced myself properly I thought I would take this opportunity at Christmas to do so.

I am originally from America but I have been in Japan for fifteen years. For the last ten, I've been studying the Noh theatre and supporting myself by teaching English and occasionally translating things usually related to the arts.
I play several of the instruments used in Noh and often go to America to participate in teaching workshops and performances. Some of us are attempting to create an original theatre in English that uses Noh techniques but deals with Western themes. We have already toured in parts of the US with a few of these works. It is quite exciting.
I have recently discovered a love for nonsense poetry. I love reading Lewis Carroll and Edward Lear among others and have posted some of my own silliness on this website. I would like to try my hand at science fiction sometime soon. Maybe sci-fi comedy? If I come up with anything I like, I will post it.

Anyway, have a Happy Christmas and a Healthy New Year!

You to, James - and welcome. Now I'm off to open my Christmas copy of 'Box 18 - the unpublished writings of Spike Milligan'.
Do-itashimashite, xman, and welcome (belatedly!).
Welcome, xman. Wishing you a peaceful and prosperous '07. ;) There's nothing more mind-teasing than the incomprehensible eagerly avowed - Dennett
