I don't find it that complicated 1 leg. There is a view which has had many active supporters over the ages which holds that harming another person because they belong to a different race is a good thing. I don't wish to add succor, or support in any way such views. The challenge IMO is not changing this view but cultivating the strength to hold fast to it when doing so would be difficult.
Liana. No apology needed. Anyone would be a fool not to accept that others have different opinions. Mine is not a refusal to consider the opinions of others. It's a refusal to share them.
It's like you and the Bush administration. There are aspects of this administration which you find deeply distasteful. It's not something you would change your mind on if you were to read every speech by Bush or Rumsfeld. That isn't a weakness anymore than my position is.

There are aspects of the Bush administration that I do find deeply distasteful, you are right. I am glad you said aspects of, because I am sure that there are several others that i *would* approve of... however, I am always willing to consider and understand that which I instinctively feel is wrong... doesnt mean to say that I will change my mind, just that i am open to it.
And I think personally, that this can only be a good thing...closed minds, are a disaster. Wouldnt you agree?
