Couldn't agree more! Was just going to flag it up when I noticed it had got a Cherry! Well deserved. An extremely original piece of work, thought provoking. I felt richer for reading it. Ty SSS

i was really chuffed to see this flagged, the idea has been running around my head for weeks and i have attempted a number of different ways to convey the idea, which never made it onto here. In the end i returned to this list or sum and really wasn't sure whether it worked at all. I still think it is a bit rough, but will work on it some more soon. Ty very much for the cherry too. This is moving and detailed. Everyday I hear of new deaths and it's always terrible. The following lines got my attention and certainly ring true; "34 people I know, who think all soldiers are thugs. September 2004 +2 =" "64 tabloid lies I have read about our soldiers. November 2005 + 1 =" "0, the amount of people who noticed your death." When I hear of a soldiers death on the TV or radio, I'm pained and feel sorrow. Yet not being anyone I know, I'm afraid I may not remember it the next day. "A Sum", helps to personalize the tragedy from a loved one's perspective. Thank you for that. ilsa p.s. Dear Juliet, I read the story, "Dear Baby," and was greatly moved. Such wonderful writing--vaguely reminding me of a poem also entitled, 'Dear Baby.' I wanted to comment on it, but, forgive me, I'm not sure how. I can only imagine that it already has a comment thread on it somewhere, though I don't know how to find it. So, I leave you this note to let you know you've touched my heart. - ilsa
