Gosh..

...what's happening around here?

It's quiet beyond quiet and the posts that are here are, um, well, hardly setting the forums alight.

What is everyone doing that's more exciting than this?

Me, well I'm 5 weeks into teacher training. Whether that is exciting depends on a) how much you like teenagers and b) how much you like lesson planning. Luckily I'm partial to both so it suits me fine. And for some reason my spare time now seems much more delicious.

So, what you up to?

Hi Fergs - well I've been up in Scotland visiting my parents (my mum is on the internet but it involves running an extension cable through the house and removing dust sheets each time you want to use it). Glad to hear the teacher training's going well. I'm impressed you get on with the teenagers - I can barely deal with one twelve year old. ~ www.fabulousmother.com
Fergal! I am being ever such a good student on my MA. Settling in to Newcastle and talking at strangers until they become my friend. It is fun but I am homesick for pocket Norwich land. Been keeping super busy to avoid this, hence have not been around the forums much. I think all the nitpicking has got to everyone. All will be back soon though surely. Ah autumn, I love it. Hannah x
I'm watching The Royle Family at the moment. In part, excellent. The other part is a'right, I suppose. The familar dread of going to work tomorrow is starting to invade my every waking second...
But ooooohhh!!! What a good ending!
"So, what you up to?" You know, work 'n stuff.

Hi Dan. By day I'm an IT business analyst, by night I'm a recepticle for the remains of my son's yoghurt and poo (he's one year old). My writing is limited to after 8:00pm but this time is shared by an increasing reliance on wine to get to sleep at night. Writing and wine, I am finding, are mutually exclusive.
Hi Gareth, I was actually answering a question not asking one, but nevermind. I used to think the same thing about wine, but I've found it's not the case.

Yeah, glad to hear teacher training is ok! Have not been up to much. The usual, you know.

Alcohol is always good for getting the old creative juices flowing... not so good for that "what the fuck have I written?!" feeling in the morning... ~PEPS~ Here's a link to a blog wot I have started... http://pepsoid.wordpress.com/

Hey Emma! Glad to see you're well. I'm working on my last project for my job and preparing to retire in February. After I've hit the trail, I intend to drift quietly into the high mountain woods with a camera and laptop computer, never again to return to the land of McDonalds Cheeseburgers. I've been busy with about moving, buying a flat, work etc etc etc. Been doing a lot of city walking. Love it. Drew - Good to see you around! Hope things are brilliant.
Been busy writing a book. Second draft is finished, and now I can see just how much MORE I still have to do...
What is this? abctalers in living in the real world shocker? Good to hear everyone doing well. Have a mojito on me. At least in my name, not on me, as that might get expensive.
I've been sticking Post-Its to my eyelids, while fending off an alien invasion with my big right toe and mentally composing the lyrics to a new musical sitcom based on the domestic lives of weevils. ~PEPS~ Here's a link to a blog wot I have started... http://pepsoid.wordpress.com/
