The great Uncherried
Stories or poems that you would have cherried but that haven't been...
Two from a much larger selection - Karl Wiggins "The Wrong Hand" and thegirlwhowantedtobegod "Rope around my neck".
Poem-wise, ivoryfishbone's "Drawing Snakes"
There are loads of these gems around on the site - what are other people's faves ?
Please note - this is not a thread about the merits or otherwise of cherrying - there are plenty of other threads still banging on about this.
I know its just been posted, but 'From the Death of a Teenager' is a fantasic story. Its oh so real and the opening leaves you thinking 'Who is the father of the child.? You dont know what Im talking about , but you will when you read it. Pity its been writen in installments, I cant wait for the second addition.
it's the next promotional instalment on the threads i can't wait for...duh
Paula re:Richie person again. You really are getting a bit pushy now. Or do you have your own personal family group posting for you? Don't think so somehow.
AJ
I AM RICHARDS SISTER AS A MATTER OF FACT, smart mouth
Yep, that's me, Paula, re Richard, re Bozart etc etc etc.
AJ
PS Can't wait for the next installment??? Why not ask your brother????? HMMMMMMMM.
AJ
Can I be one of Richard's siblings too?
I would like it very much.
I think it's rather sweet. Like MYB says, no harm done...
Do you know where sibling guy is, he has the same server as me so he must be from Ireland too.
You just said that, Beach.
Is anyone here Irish
You just said that, too.
Is it of vital import?
Not vital, but it would be interressting to share a dialogue with another aspiring Irish writer.
Can I be Ritchie too?
There's loads by me that I would have cherried like a shot, but I can't cause it's unethical!
Julian Bell's "Just Married" ... tho i think he is one of those ABCers who ought to get an automatic cherry ...
Thanks Andrew,
Now I understand your e-mail of today. I'll have to write a little something entitled "The Wrong Hand" because, as you said earlier, you keep getting the name wrong.
Anyway, thank you again, you were instrumental in getting "Whose Hand?" cherried.
Mark, I'd cherry loads of yours too, but I can't because I'm not an editor.
Walk in the city (Aberdeen in 1992) by Eric Swanepoel
this has been on the site for ages...it's still been read only 30 times and i think 3 of those were me...
I agree - Eric is brilliant. Check him out. Author search for
cellarscene
A coming talent. You saw him here first. Another scoop for ABC!
I can only agree with the previous two comments regarding Eric Swanepoel (cellarscene). I must declare that Eric is a friend of mine, but no matter, I think his writing is outstanding.
Not only does he write stories and poetry, he is an astute commentator on globalisation.

Self promotion is a little on the desperate side isn't it?
then again i guess either pretending to be your siblings or even getting them to come on and promote you is quite desperate no matter what the scenario.....
ENOUGH of the Richie saga pleeeze!
Now, I think Shadows will get a cherry, safe bet.
Many thanks for the accolades! Blush, blush!
I have just posted a short and very opinionated essay on the handling of the foot and mouth disease outbreak:

I'd be very interested in hearing what other abctalers think, and have started another thread for this topic.
Eric
I highly recommend donignacio's hilarious take-off of Mary Poppins. This ought to have received a cherry in my opinion. Here's the URL and a sample:

“Cheroooo! Cheroooo!” somebody returned from another chimney two houses down. Then, like clockwork, dozens upon dozens of chimney sweeps leaped out of their hiding places and began dancing upon the rooftop singing a song called ‘Life is Great Even Though I’m Twenty Pounds Underweight.’
