loony left on the march - place your bets
As mentionned below, along with other comrades from ABC I will be going on today's anti-Bush demo.
For me, the highlight of these demonstrations is the hilarious collection of obscure left-wing journals, magazines and newspapers on offer.
ABCtales editor Mark Brown tells me he once suceeded in aquiring 15 seperate left/green/marxist publications at some conference or other.
I plan to beat that figure today. I also plan to spend less than five pounds doing so.
Please place your bets on how many seperate publications I will succeed in collecting on today's march. The closest to the correct answer wins unlimited supplies of chocolate and proper coffee when the revolution comes.
I'm now back in the office. Cook and Gardener have marched, downed several pints and gone home.
An impromptu workers' council has appointed Mark as adjucator and he agrees that the winning number is 20. This involves a fairly liberal interpretation of the word publication to include fairly small leaflets and publications.
11 of these are definitely either newspapers or magazines. 9 are probably better described as leaflets, pamphlets, cries for help.
Several of my favourite loony left publications including the Morning Star and Newsline, did not seem to have made it to Trafalgar Square, which was disappointing but many of those I did manage to get hold of are great. Extracts may follow tomorrow.
One enthusiastic young person asked me what my views were on the possibility of the UK being taken over by a vanguardist revolutionary party. I wasn't quite sure what to say and told him that, while his ideas were very interesting, I'd prefer it if he didn't take my phone number.
I picked up four pizza menus, a Spurs scarf, and some Spanish bird from Seville. So, I'm alright for marmalde for a few weeks.

So long as you purchase at least one copy of Red Pepper then I'll go for 17.
Did i win then?
