"The other day I bought a three bedroom semi (with garden) in a nice little place north of the M25 fror £95k and in 2 years it'll be worth £200K."
wow. so...not such good news for first time buyers, nurses, young families, people on low income. ah well. I guess that's their problem eh?
Is that the one near the mill? I forget the name of the place, but we were considering it for this year's creative writing retreat - ended up going to Devon instead!
I've just been accepted as a member of a Yahoo! group that I've been waiting about 6 weeks for...
wayhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
At least this goes some way to compensating for the log-in probs...
*cock-a-hoop*
The other day I bought a three bedroom semi (with garden) in a nice little place north of the M25 fror £95k and in 2 years it'll be worth £200K.
I spent yesterday lying in a hammock, sipping cool drinks, eventually I got bored and mowed the lawn.
Today, for a change of pace, I went fishing all day, it was fab.
I've just reformatted my pc and now it does what I ask instead of making that 'thinking' noise that sounds like an old man perpetually clearing his throat.
Some people I've never met read some of my stuff and said it was great.
I'm still alive and in love.
bring it on baby!
My computer is fixed after being sassered!!
Have new lovely twirly bamboo plants.
I just bought a new dishwasher.
Kids have stopped arguing over who's washing up.
my daughter is in bed..(peace at last)
I'm nowhere near Gordon Ramsey.(Grr egotistical b*****d)
and
I'm going on holiday very soon.
Life is great!!
I have just secured a new (perhaps less dodgy) job.. got the key to my new apartment (perhaps this is less good-ish news) which looks like Godzilla spontaneously combusted in it.. BUT nothing that a weekend of hard scrubbing and a vat of korean-ajax won't solve.
Inspired by Ely's numerous D.I.Y posts and a suggestion from the other half I might even give the place a lick of paint. This is coming from someone who is usually quite happy to kip on someone's floor next to an empty wine bottle.. so yes, good news indeed.
Some mad foreigner even left a PC in there..
AND one of my best mates from Canada is thinking of coming to Gwangju, after completing (from what I've read) a GREAT first novel.
Just need stormy published and it may be cause for the most gigantic party known to man (regardless of distance!)

I have a fairly old-fashioned digital camera (an Agfa CL -18) which I use to take photos of the local countryside. Today I have taken my 2000th photo!
I love to take pictures of the changing seasons - especially trees and the changes the seasons make on the flora of my local canal. My camera is a fairly early model which only manage 640x480 - but it often gives an ‘Impressionist’ feel to photos that a ‘mega pixel.’ camera would miss in its detail. I also love the fact that it’s virtually free - I use rechargeable batteries - and that the images it takes are, in many ways, so different to a conventional camera. I’m fascinated by the beauty of nature and the way that a good digital camera can convey ’light’ in a way that a photograph never could (because of the way it is displayed).
I feel that, in a way, I am leaving my photos to posterity. a posterity that may not have woods, wild flowers or even trees.
The joy of laying beneath a favourite tree, stoned, watching the leaves, fluttering in the breeze, may not be capable of capture but at least the photos are of the style local Leeds artist ‘ John Atkison Grimshaw’ might have painted’ (surely he experimented with the local mushrooms).
(not particularly obvious by thi painting - visit Leeds art gallery).
Perhaps I should point ot that Mr Grinshaw's painting are not particularly ' impressionistic' but you should imagine his scenes taken with a 640x480 camera - that captures the 'mood' without as much detail. Such are my photos (hopefully).
I just got a job I can do from home working for an Academic Consultancy firm, bloody hell, I can't believe it. As much work as you want, when you want??? Watch this space.
