THE UKA OPEN THEME POETRY COMPETITION.
You can submit as many poems as you like, in any genre, but each submission must be accompanied by the relevant entry fee.
GUIDELINES Open theme, open to all, any genre, any subject, any length.
DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: 31st January 2012
ENTRY FEE: The entry fee is £5 (or equivalent currency) for the first entry, £8 for two entries or £10 for three poems
FIRST PRIZE: £50
SECOND AND THIRD PRIZES: A copy of UKA's 'Voices from the Web 2011-2012' prose and poetry anthology or, if preferred, an earlier anthology. See here: (http://ukauthors.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=88).
THE WINNER AND RUNNERS-UP will be announced at the end of March 2011
(Note: A winner will only be chosen if we've received sufficient entries. If this is not the case, the deadline will be extended.)
JUDGING: Poet, travel writer and novelist John Webber http://www.barenibs.com , author of A Slowboat to Moscow, Private Histories and Had Van Gogh Had A Day Job will judge the entries. Very sensibly, he refuses to enter into any correspondence and tells us his decision will be final.
To make judging as fair as possible, all entries are judged blind
