Galley Beggars short story prize

The excellent small independent publisher, Galley Beggars, are running a short story prize and deadline is 15th November. The prize is either £500 or one year's editorial mentoring. They have published some great stuff and picked up fiction that couldn't find a home with the conventional big boys.  The word limit is 6,000 words so it might suit a self-contained  novel extract. Get your ya-yas out and stop humming and hawing about the Sun not being in the Virgin, or the lack of lime green in your wardrobe before sitting down to write.
