I have just submitted another story under the Horror category called Carla. i would be grateful for any feedback.
You can also find it under my username jazz.
Cheers Janeve..thanks for taking the time to write. my avice is to read my inspiration, Luigi pirandello.
Alright James, how's it going? Read 'Carla' and picked up heavy Neil Gaimen vibes, is he an influence? Can I just ask whether the narrator was meant to sound both camp and sinister, like Vincent Price? I was intigued but it sounded more like a pen sketch of a story, rather than a fully fleshed story itself. I confess to being intrigued, and would love to see an extended version of this, where the character of the narrator is given a world and a set of relationships to interact with, so we can see just where her/his relationship with her/his chracters fits in, and just what the motivation and context is. If this was a comic, I could see it drawn by Dave McKean
Thanks for feedback. Actually I have not read anything by Neil Gaimen. The big influence was the Italian Luigi Pirandello (you must read his short stories in The Oil Jar and other stories).
Yes..the narrator was meant to be slightly cam and menacing.
Thanks again for taking the time to write.
Hi James
I just read your story carla and I just wanted to say, wow! I really liked the story! Short and to the point. It really makes me think about the story and I like that. It kinda leaves off with the reader thinking and that makes the story interesting. Keep up the good work!!
Janeve
