Supplementary Q's - are they big? The supplementary B12's are MASSIVE. Oo OOo Up the BERT (not in a suppository sense, in a "Bert must read" sense)

I feel I am no longer in charge of my life. What if I don't want to sleep with Bert?

>>I heard a rumour that a well-known member is attending, incognito!<, Really? They can't be that well known then. I presume you mean well known in the forum. Since most 'well known' forumites have, at some point, attended an abc event, met another abc'er, posted their photo on here or uka and so on it narrows the field somewhat. Why go incognito? Bloody stupid well-known member if you ask me. *makes note to listen for northants and 'uddersfield accents*

No Rachel, I think the suppository sense says it all with Bert's poetry

Or, gasp, Scouse accents with a 'tasty' Manchester twang?

Corbites have a different accent to the rest of the county, i'm not attending any of these events because i've had threats from Missi and Rachel.....amongst others.

I wouldn't say it if I didn't hold his work in high regard *spits suppository high*

From the travelling diary of Mark Brown, Year Of Our Lord 1889: "Now that the sun has long dipped below the horizon, the dark shadows have brought upon me a not unpleasent air of melancholy reflection. It would, needless to say, be too much to term my feelings apprehensive, but now that Floyd has departed and left me to the company of myself, I grow eager to have a more fullsom appreciation of what lies ahead of the pair of us. In the final gutterings of the candle, I can only guess at what depravities the known attendants that await me have in store. I'm sure that the grand oppulence of our surrounds will do much to quieten any base or untoward urges, but there is still much chance for conduct that would be deemed unacceptable in more decorous society. Having glanced through many esteemed guides and tomes as to the character of the people's of the flat lands, I feel a thrill of excitement at various witness to wild abandon and displays of linguistic flair. I fear, so far from the civilisation that Floyd and I have grown accustomed to, we shall feel the pull of these wild and colourful peoples. The unknown troubles me. Who else shall I expect? Persistant rumours have circulated mooting the return of a shadowy personage of whom we have has dealings with previously. With little more than the gossip of fish wives to go upon, it troubles my brow to contemplate it further. I feel myself wishing that the other attendees should make themselves known to me either by voice (07960 838603) or by missive. An already formidable gathering is presented by the figures of Dunne, Tuff, McCall, Coates, Bert, Hanks, Prince and Harrison-Brown. An unknown hoard ready to deploy across flat and fertile field, creeping ever closer in proximity to our coaching house at the Brunswick Inn fills me both with trepidation and a reckless, vainglorious joy. I feel that Floyd and I shall have an experience in Derby that may transfigure us forever. Whether this transformation shall be of a positive aspect or a negative will be a matter that only time and our lord may answer." [%sig%]

ooooooo sir ... pray you do sound ever so posh now sir ... i don't know what you is expecting from us midlanders sir ... i really don't *adjusts mob cap* ... i mean really sir ... you takes us as you finds us ... we as our habits and we as our funny ways ... and you wouldn't be mistaking one for another ... and who is this Floyd you speak of sir? ... is it one of them "modern" relationships we sometimes hear about ... cos things is very modern down there in the city sir, isn't it? ... the things we hear! would turn your hair grey they would sir ... quite contrary to nature in some ways i fear sir ... anyway i must dash sir ... mister hitch is requiring his flannel ... *curtseys*

Yes, please do, Pi. How much will you be able to bring? The news of this super event has been trumpeted by the Derbyshire Literature Development Posse's Live Words in Derby circular which went out today - a mass email-list. There should also be regular ads for said event on Radio Derby and Ram FM. I've put some flyers in the Derby Library and today there was evidence that *some* of them have been taken. Cheers Mark for the plug in the ABC tales mail out. [%sig%]

What abc email? I didn't get one. I've been in Yorkshire today and on the way home I nearly decided upon whether to go or not. So who else is going apart from prince bobble brown fish bert rachel and unwitting, ciderdrunk railway enthusiasts?

I am very well behaved, polite and I don't take up much room and I was not going to say 'I want to come' because the last time I said that I got teased relentlessly!

Sadly neither Gardiner nor I can come. I had hoped to make it but I have had the car stolen by the other half who is having a Sculpture show in Henfield over that weekend. I am away from home enough without disappearing for another couple of days - although we do have very good friends who live in Kinoulton - but, quite reasonably, I've been given the three line whip to stop in. So, sorry, this time Derby I won't be there. I want to know why Drew isn't going!

Anybody staying over?? I was going to catch a late train to Chesterfield and stay at my father-in-law's but I think I'll B&B in Derby. I'll probably book it tomorrow, there's plenty of cheapish places around the town centre.
