Tantalizing is good.

Knew this thread was down here somewhere. I've finally got round to reading all of these and I like them a lot. The writing seems to brush lightly over descriptions of the real world, often only obliquely mentioning facts about what the characters are doing and concentrating on the narators take on events. It makes the real world seem ephemeral and less real than the one in the narators head. You can imagine it slipping away easily. It is a very strong depiction of madness. There's some lovely and unnusual turns of phrase too, 'she took her clank with her' is one that sticks in my head. It's not perfect, it took me ages to work out the narator was a bloke, and there are way too many semicolons for my taste, but I like it. And it's tantalizing.
