Getting down from the Midlands… time off work… train fair… busy social calendar (!)… etc etc… Shame it’s not at my local, or I’d definitely be there! Ach well…
Have a ball, y’all!

i should be there by about 6, for those who don't know me, i'll be the one wrapped around missi
alas i have to leave at about 9ish, as beleive it or not i have another internet drink up on the same night in islington....london buses and that
I'm quite excited about meeting those of you I haven't met before.
I also look forward to recognising Dan when I see him, and not having the conversation we had last time, which went:
(Mad)Dan: Hi!
(B)en(zo): Hi!
(Mad)Dan: You don't know who I am, do you?
(B)en(zo): No!
To be fair, I was very drunk the first time I met him, through similar nerve to what Juliet is experiencing now.
I'm going to aim to be among the first there because (a) I work around the corner and (b) I want to leave work early.
I'm wearing a grey top thing, black jeans, I'm tall, bad posture, not altogether attractive, and hungover. I also look like a younger version of my profile pic.
PS Those of you who were there last time will remember (Mad)Dan went on to deliver the most unforgettable performance of his wonderful 'statistics' story. For those of you who weren't, you missed out, it was confident and funny and brilliant.
Thanks all...had a good time - really great to meet those of you I'd not met before. I hope you all made it home safe and sound.
Just wanted to say that someone (Missi?) left a book behind. I picked it up and have it, so if the owner lets me know, we can sort something out.
Someone also left about 17 Silk Cuts, which they won't be seeing again.
Ben..
Hey, we had a great time. Nice to meet the 'newbies' and good to meet the 'oldies' again. I got pics of almost everyone and those that want them can have 'em some time tomorrow when I've had time to D/L them and fiddle with them. The ladies were fascinating and the guys fascinated. I hadn't realised there were so many members I haven't insulted yet.
Enzo, the book IS mine, I got as far as Moorgate on the tube before I realised I'd left the bloody thing behind. That book has been avoiding me like you wouldn't believe for several years now. I'll mail you my address and pay you for the postage. Thanks for rescuing it for me. The fags aren't mine but do yourself a favour and bin them.
I *knew* I couldn't have smoked that many... You're welcome to them Enzo dear, for tomorrow - I quit.

Good to meet everybody. Missed the Marty T/Emily snog though.
Must be something about your on-line persona that conjures up a pig-tailed girl skipping up a yellow brick road!
As it happens it was refreshing to see you're a full size woman.
2Lou's for the price of one!
very good night, sorry I had to leave earlyish, as i said i somehow ended up meeting with 2 lots of discussion board people in one night. It was lovely meeting all of you, even the ones I already knew...
when i finally got home, i fell asleep on the sofa and woke up at 5 in the morning...
Thank you all for a great night, it was fun to meet the people behind the words and the arguments, you are all a bunch of softies really :) No need to be nervous.
se you all at the next one.
Juliet
I had a lovely time, and nice to finally meet a lot of people.
I too fell asleep on the sofa (though only till 1am). If I were wiser I would have taken my contact lens out first. I now have one bright red bloodshot eye.
I had a lovely time. Good to meet new people and see faces old. I realised on my way home that I never bought a round and demand another meet up soon so that I can make reparation. Sorry I didn't talk to absolutely everyone properly but I'm still undergoing social skills rehabilitation.
We even talked about writing!
On another happy note I am feeling better, I was having headaches and eyeaches which is made worse by the old PC monitor hence my absence recently.
glad everyone had a lovely time *grumbles into coffee cup*, please, please can the next one be made a little more accessible to those who live a little further away???
P.s good to hear you're feeling better Jude.
Those not there were missed and those that were there were treasured. A splendid evening - I thought it was still around 9 pm and discovered it was 10.30 so had to rush for my train. To those I failed to say farewell to properly - pip pip and all that. What a lovely fellow that Anthony Jucha is! Happy trails to him and Sally on the way back to Sydney.
Though I was unable to attend due to being geographically challenged, I am willing as always to post the latest batch of pictures to my web site. Just send them along, George, when they're ready.
Jude, get an new monitor! And maybe have your eyes checked. I've been having far fewer headaches after my eye surgery last month.

It isn't a problem with the eye, it is a problem associated with the aneurysm on the left hand occipital bit of my brain...hence I only get left-sided problems. If I could work only with the right half of my head it would be dandy! But it is made worse by strain and glare.
I am actually getting a new monitor anyways though...a nice flatscreen with a glareguard so I hope that will reduce the problem!
I did a mini-plug for Warsaw Tales last night mentioning how much I enjoyed it and how it has inspired me to visit Warsaw!

no what i really meant to say is Missi is an argumentative beligerent old codger - happy now?? or and miserable to boot, oh and barely has a thing to say for himself.
Juliet
Well, those of you who know me will know of my reluctance to come out from behind this curtain - in the words of Vincent Price "many have said it, and many will say it in the future, it is the mystery that endures, and not the explanation"
but I had a damn splendid night. Finally met Tony Cook, the only person to pay me money I've never seen face to face (apart from the guy in the white peugeot in Barcelona...)
Enzo is devillishly handsome. Surely unfair for someone to be talented and good looking. No doubt he burns kittens with matches in his spare time. Lisa H was sound as several pounds; having met Jude I'm gladder than ever that she didn't make it to a nunnery. Dan is like Drew - one of the few people from abc I've ever met that was exactly the way I imagined him (which is a good thing, on both counts)
And now I learn that the only person I didn't get to speak toall night is the feisty girl... sure she was avoiding me. What with my reputation and all.
May i assume you are referring to me Emily? I didn't see you, you little minx, you must have been hiding from me. Were you in disguise by chance?
:)
Juliet
Good-looking? I think you had one too many, Andrew. Although it is true that I have an intense dislike for cats. Thoroughly enjoyed your tales of travelling back from Barca.... there's a story in that, no?
Look forward to meeting up with you all again, sooner rather than later.
Got all confused, thinking I missed someone. Then I realized that Emily underwent a sex change for the evening!
Looking forward to the next night already.
And I got the wet hand treatment. You dirty bas**rd! Next time you pee on your hands, have the decency to wipe it down the front of your shirt.
Juliet, you are truely a minx! Lou is sweet and elegant. Jude is far prettier than her picture. All the guys were complete gents, and I also owe a round of drinks.
All in all, a great crowd of ABC'ers.
When I learn how to put a photo on the computer thingy - I will. And if I ever get sober I'll turn up at a wing ding. I was absolutely flootered on Wednesday.
I've sent the pics to James in Warsaw, he'll get around to posting them and no doubt tell us when they're available.
I'm sure that any other members that wish to send their photo to James will join the rest of us on his site.

Anyone that wants me to email them direct can leave their names here.
It occurs to me that I didn't buy a round either, Enzo pipped me to the last one.
For some reason I'd always imagined Andrew to be a complete carrot top ginger and was slightly dissapointed to discover he wasn't. I have no idea where I got this idea from. Perhaps I dreamed it.
Aww thank you Lisa petal! (Makes up for just having looked at my god awful photo.) And you a fellow 24 addict - excellent.
I missed talking to a few people - it went too quick. An enjoyable evening though.
