It's like the opening to a film (a Coen brothers film maybe?), really cinematic. I'd love to know more about what happens between the characters, and the backstory too. Is there a sequel coming? Or a prequel (not fussy!)

Yes, very atmospheric. Agree that it's very visual (But can see no relation to the Coen brothers at all Matt!) I liked it, and it was like the beginning of a story as much as a poem, one of those ones which make you think about what the difference between poem and prose really is.

I think it reminded me of all the water motifs in O Brother Where Art Thou - the mass baptism, the sirens scene and also the great flood at the end. It'd be great to know what happens next........!!
